Natural Composition Bleach Technique

 I have been seeing exciting things to do with Stampin' Up! Natural Composition DSP and we will be using this in our class next week to learn the Bleach Technique.  We will also learn a new way to make the ribbon knot shown above.

Everything Eleanor Bleach Technique

 I first saw this card on Angie Leach's blog and thought what a great use of this stamp set.  I have wanted Everything Eleanor since I saw it on a blog from somewhere in Europe and thought, how can I buy that set and I was real excited to find it in our new catalog.

Life Shared Marker Coloring

 In July I will be having a coloring class featuring Stampin' Write Markers.  I really love this Storytime DSP, it reminds me of Dick and Jane books from when I was young(now I have really aged myself).

Natural Composition Ink Pad Coloring

Stampin' Llamas Summer Blog Hop

 Welcome June!  What a wonderful month.  Summer begins, the start of a new Stampin' Up! catalog year, and, of course, another llama hop. Starting June 14, the Stampin' Llamas will be hopping again.  This time we will be showcasing the many wonderful products from the 2012-2013 Catalog.  Check back then to get hopping with us.

The first stamp set that I purchased from the new catalog was Papaya Collage.  Collage is one of my favorite things to do.  The first two cards use this unique new set.

This card was inspired by Jackie Topa and her ATC card.  I just love the collage effect on this one.

Travel Clipboard

Last week we had a clipboard class using DSP and making our attachments from stamp sets.  The above clipboard was so easy to make because all of the paper and attachments except the word "Travel" came from the new DSP set "Fan Fair".  It is soooo cool, there are two pages of empheria that you can add to cards, collage or scrapbook pages.  I stamped the "Travel" using the new Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and punching it out with the Postage Stamp Punch.  I just am so excited about the Fan Fair Suite which starts on page 106 of the new catalog.  This was a really fun class and I will be posting soon some more collage projects that I am dreaming up.  Below are some more of the Clipboards that I made using retired DSP and new stamp sets.

The Colors of Spring - A Stampin' Llamas Blog Hop

Polished Stone Simply Soft

Thanks for joining us for another blog hop.  I have been preparing for my next Technique Class and the card above is using the Polished Stone Technique.  The card base is the retiring In Color - Blushing Bride.  I am really going to miss this color, I especially love using it for baby cards.  I stamped the Simply Soft(Hostess Stamp set retiring May 31st) branch with black Stazon and the Dream is from the Loving Thoughts set out of the Occasions Mini Catalog which ends April 30th.

Designer Frames Double Texture Embossing

This is the other card for our next technique class and I have to thank Angie Leach for her great tutorial on how to do this technique.  My ladies will be learning two techniques for this card since I used the Rock n Roll technique on the butterfly also.  See that cute baker's twine on the butterfly body?  That is the new color Calpyso Coral that came out in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  The sentiment is from a new stamp set to me, Delightful Dozen out of the Idea Book and Catalog, it fit just perfect in the Oval Designer Frame.  Once again, I chose to use Blushing Bride for this card.  I guess I was in a pink mood the day I designed these two cards.

Spotlighting Up in the Air

The next two cards are from last week's technique class.  This card was inspired by Mary Brown.  What a great example of the spotlighting technique.  The card base is Pear Pizzazz that is retiring 5/31.  This stamp set, Up in the Air, is a Hostess set from the Occasions Mini that will retire 4/30.

Versa Shadow Mixed Bunch

This card was inspired by Erin Gonzales and her Versa Shadow Technique.  I used the Concord Crush that retires 5/31 as a contrast to the crumb cake card.  Isn't this a great technique?  I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog and the sentiment is also from the Delightful Dozen, why didn't I buy this stamp set earlier?  I love it.  Thanks for stopping by, next up is Buffy and she always has beautiful creations to inspire me.

Well Worn Herringbone Technique

This is the other card from our Technique Class.  I fell in LOVE with this technique.  You cut 1/4" strips and glue them on your card front.  First you place down the dark strips and then follow with the other colors, placing the same pattern in each area.  The Well Worn DSP was perfect for this technique and doesn't it make a great man card?

Well, I finally got the hub's birthday card done!  Yea!  Nothing like doing it on the day it is due.  So while I was at creating a one of a kind card, I thought, why not enter it into some challenges?  The first challenge is with Freshly Made Sketches and here is the sketch #27:

Well Worn Birthday

Well Worn Birthday

Today is my husband's birthday and I have been contemplating the card that I want to create for him.  For me, a male card is sooooo hard.  It is a challenge to think outside of the female/flower/froufrou box.  I will come up with a unique card to show you tomorrow, but for now here is one that I have on my card buffet.    I have to thank Dawn Olchefske for this idea.  Don't you just love how easy it is and what a great way to use up dsp scraps.  If you cut your dsp for card fronts, first cut the 12x12 into three 4x12 strips.  Then with each of these cut into 4x5 1/4 and you will get six card fronts out of one sheet of dsp!  Then the bonus is that you will also have three pieces of 4x1 1/2 strips and those I used for this card, punching out the circles with the 1 1/4" circle punch.  You could make a card for children or adults with this theme. 

I am making many cards for our soldiers by donating cards to Operation Write Home.  Our local ladies will be having a card making day for Operation Write Home on Thursday, April 12th from 10 to 4pm at the Sallie Logan Library in Murphysboro, IL.  Please come and join us, but if you can't we can always use donations of paper, envelopes(A2 size) or money for postage.  Email me with questions or donations.  Last year our small group sent 552 cards and this year we plan to beat that number.

Lego Birthday - rs#3

Lego Birthday

Well, I finally am posting on my blog, don't faint.  First my mojo left the building, then I visited my darling daughter and her husband and menagerie.  Then my father fell and I went to help the parental units.  So, I'm home and mojo has returned.  YEA!!!!

One of the demonstrators that I received blog posts from introduced retro sketches to me and I decided to try out their fun challenge for the Lego Birthday card above, I decided to flip the sketch on it's side.   And here is retrosketches#3:
